Bullion custody, explained clearly.

Practical answers for private owners, families, companies and institutions considering professional precious-metals storage.

What does allocated custody mean?+

Allocated custody means metal is identified in the custody records as client property rather than recorded only as a general claim for a quantity of metal.

Is allocated the same as segregated?+

Not always. Allocation concerns legal and inventory identification; segregation concerns physical separation. Your proposal and custody agreement specify the arrangement offered.

Can I deposit metal I already own?+

Potentially. Acceptance depends on provenance, condition, form, refiner or mint, supporting documents and the result of authentication and compliance checks.

How is my metal insured?+

The applicable custody proposal describes when coverage begins, the valuation basis, limits, exclusions, insurer or broker evidence available, and treatment during transport.

What happens if Aurum fails?+

The custody agreement documents ownership and balance-sheet separation. Clients should review the agreement and independent legal advice rather than rely on a general website statement.

Can I withdraw my metal?+

Subject to identity, authority, compliance and fee checks, eligible holdings may be released through an approved insured delivery or collection process.

How are bars authenticated?+

The process may include document review, visual inspection, weighing, dimension checks, conductivity or ultrasound testing, and assay where required.

Does Aurum provide investment advice?+

No. Aurum provides custody and related operational services. Clients should obtain independent investment, tax and legal advice.
